The move highlights the operator's strategy to expand zero-emission ride-hailing services in high-density Indian urban centers, including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
What This Means for Electric Mobility
Commercial taxi operators are shifting rapidly toward battery electric vehicles to cut fuel expenditure. High daily running distances of 150 to 200 kilometers make electric cabs far more economical than CNG or diesel alternatives, especially with the 5% GST rate on EVs and state-level road tax waivers.
For fleet viability, these test vehicles must deliver consistent real-world range under heavy air conditioning usage and support fast charging on public CCS2 networks. Lower per-kilometer operating costs directly translate into higher net margins for aggregators and driver-partners.
